Modern

Kitchen Design ESSEX

This kitchen started as a large, bright space, but it didn’t really work.

It was dated, with lots of storage but no real flow, and the layout blocked views through to the garden, which made the whole space feel more closed off than it should have been.

The aim was to create a modern kitchen that works as part of everyday life. Not just somewhere to cook, but a central space for the house where people can gather, sit and spend time together.

The layout was completely reworked to open everything up. Walls were removed, windows enlarged, and a long island added to the centre of the room, making the space easier to use and more sociable.

A structural pillar had to stay, but it now helps define the kitchen and dining areas without breaking the flow.

The result is a lighter, more open kitchen that connects properly to the rest of the home and out to the garden.

It even ended up being used as a filming location for a dog food advert.
